Electrodes - Stainless-Steel PLATINUM 309MoL

Platinum 309MoL is a very versatile 309 series stainless-steel welding rod, suitable for strong, tough & corrosion resistant welding of; Dissimiliar steel to stainless, matching 309/309L stainless-steels, CrNi & CrNiMo stainless-steels and hard-to-weld steels. Addition of 2.5% molybdenum (Mo) makes this electrode popular for welding clad steel (such as ferritic steel and Cr-Mo steel clad with 316/316L stainless-steel). Also used for buffer layers. All-positional (except vertical-down), smooth arc, low spatter, excellent slag control/detachability and high quality weld appearance. Classification: AWS E309MoL-16. Supplied in a 1kg re-usable convenience pack to keep electrodes in good condition.

KEY FEATURES
> Strong, tough & corrosion resistant
> For: Dissimilar welding of stainless to mild steel, Matching 309/309L grades, CrNi & CrNiMo stainless and hard-to-weld steels
> All positional, except vertical-down
> Smooth arc, low spatter, excellent slag control/detachability and high quality weld appearance
> Convenient 1kg re-usable pack keeps electrodes in good condition

APPLICATION INFO
> Deposits 23% Cr / 12%Ni / 2.5% Mo austenitic stainless steel weld metal
> High alloy content and ferrite level enable the weld metal to tolerate dilution from dissimilar and difficult-to-weld materials without hot cracking or brittle structures
> Used for wide range 300 and 400 series stainless-steels to mild / low alloy steels
> Welding matching 309 and 309L base metals
> Addition of 2.5% molybdenum (Mo) to type 309 weld metal makes this electrode popular for side welding of clad steel, such as ferritic steel and Cr-Mo steel clad with 316/316L stainless-steel
> Also used for buffer layers

OPERATING INFO
> All-positional (except vertical-down)
> Polarity: DC+ or AC+ (electrode +)
> Minimum recommended OCV (open circuit voltage): 70V
> Avoid high / excessive current
> Use straight "stringer" bead (rather than weave) technique

CLASSIFICATIONS
> AWS E309MoL-16
> AS/NZS 4854-B - E309LMoL-16
