316L series Stainless-Steel welding rods for general purpose welding of matching 316, 316L & other common stainless steels, including; 300 series, 301, 302, 304, 304L, 3Cr12, 409, 444. All-positional (except vertical-down), smooth arc, low spatter, excellent slag control/detachability and high quality weld appearance. Classification: AWS E316L-16.
Available in 1kg re-usable packs & blister/handy packs, in 2.0mm, 2.6mm or 3.2mm.

APPLICATION INFO:
> Deposits Molybdenum bearing, 19% Cr / 12% Ni / 2.3% Mo filler metal to meet the requirements for welding AISI type 316 and 316L stainless steel in critical applications
> For welding of matching 316, 316L & other common stainless steels, including; 300 series (301, 302, 304, 304L, etc), and ferritic stainless steel alloys
such as 409, 444 and 3Cr12
> Commonly used in; marine, wine making, dairy & similiar industries

OPERATING INFO:
> All welding positions, excluding vertical down
> Polarity: DC+ or AC+ (electrode +)
> Minimum recommended OCV (open circuit voltage): 45V
> Avoid high / excessive current
> Use straight "stringer" bead (rather than weave) technique

I currently burn about 5kg in 3 days of 316L on cooking trollies I manufacture. I have used other brands of s/steel rods but found splatter a big problem. Since using weldclass platinum 316Lsplatter is minimal with less time to clean. I’m very happy to use and recommend. Cheers Chris 15/03/23 6:09 PM
