2 Regular maintenance must be carried out, and all warnings and instructions provided in the user manual and on the unit must be followed for ongoing safe use and prevention of fire hazards. Poor or improper maintenance and disregarding of instructions and warnings may result in fire and other hazards that can cause damage, injury, and death.
3 Whilst aluminium welding fumes can be safely extracted, Aluminium Dust (including grinding dust) can be explosive when airborne, and for this reason, fume extractors and downdraft tables should NOT be used for extraction of aluminium grinding dust or applications where aluminium dust may be present in the extraction zone. Oil mist and gases can also cause explosion. Water vapour will damage the filter.
4 Compared to welding and grinding, Plasma and Oxy-Fuel cutting processes produce large volumes of hot and/or molten metal/dross particles that are projected downwards. This can cause: a) a high rate of wear to the table top and spatter/dross build-up, b) rapid filter clogging and loss of fume extraction performance, c) fire hazard if filter systems become worn or overwhelmed with a large volume of hot particles/dross.
ALLCLEAR TA400/TA500 Tables are generally suitable for Infrequent and Light-Duty oxy or plasma cutting only, provided that precautions are taken for protection of the table top and filters are checked and cleaned regularly. Use of ALLCLEAR TA400/TA500 Tables in their standard configuration for frequent and/or medium-to-heavy oxy or plasma cutting is NOT recommended by Weldclass, without appropriate modifications for hot material/dross management. To ensure correct rotation/direction of extractor fan/motor, the plug wiring ‘phase rotation’ has to match the wiring at the premises/facility of use (phase rotation wiring of any 3-phase circuit can vary from one facility to another). Plug should be fitted by a qualified electrician on the premises.
