2. Defect

On some units, the properties of the black rubber boots are not sufficient to insulate from welding voltage.

3. Hazard

If cable connectors are in use (attached to welding cables) and a person touches the cable connector whilst voltage is present in the welding cables (for example when cables are connected to a welding machine or power source in use), the person may be subjected to electrical shock potentially causing injury or death to the user.

4. What to do

Immediately stop using the connectors.  Do not use the product under any circumstances.

If you have any of these connectors, please notify Weldclass via the form below ↓ we will then contact you to make all neccessarry arrangements for replacement or refund.

5. Additional Reference Information:

Open Circuit Voltage (voltage present in cables when welding is not in progress) is typically somewhere in the range of 20 – 100V DC.

Welding Voltage (voltage present in cables during welding) is typically somewhere in the range of 10 – 50V DC.

Whilst DC voltage is generally regarded as less hazardous, any voltage exposure should be considered hazardous.

DC Voltage under 30V is commonly consider ‘low voltage’ and low risk.
