Weldclass backs Ashton Cattach at the 2026 Bathurst 1000
Weldclass is backing Ashton Cattach at the 2026 Repco Bathurst 1000, held at Mount Panorama from 8 to 11 October. Ashton races the #22 Toyota in the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia GR Cup, and this weekend the car carries the Weldclass logo on the front and rear.
Who is Ashton Cattach?
Ashton is a welder by trade from Melbourne, and he races the #22 Toyota for Ashton Cattach Racing. He arrives at Bathurst 10th in the championship after three rounds and wants to finish the season strong.
That's a big part of why we're behind him. He does the same work as a lot of our customers, and welding and racing have more in common than you'd think. Both reward a steady hand and getting the job right the first time. Ashton takes that approach from the workshop to the track.
Bathurst will test it. Mount Panorama runs 6.2 kilometres up and over the mountain, with a steep climb to Skyline and a fast drop down to Conrod Straight. The walls are close the whole way round and there's very little room for error, which makes a clean weekend worth a lot.

What is the GR Cup?
The GR Cup is one of Australia's most competitive junior categories. Every driver races the same Toyota GR86, so results come down to talent and racecraft. The series runs on the support card at major Supercars events, including the Bathurst 1000.
