Promax 350 & 500 welding helmet battery position | Product Update

The Inside Tack

Weldclass has recently made some changes to the design of the electronic lens cassettes in the Promax 350 and Promax 500 welding helmets.  As a results, the battery position has changed, as shown below:

 

Old Battery Position

Battery located adjacent to the lens adjustment controls.

 

 

New Battery Position

Battery is now located within the 'top edge' of the electronic lens cassette, as shown below.

To access the battery;

  1. Remove the lens retaining frame from the helmet shell
  2. Remove the cassette from the retaining frame

  3. Remove the battery holder (use screwdriver or similiar tool)

    So I received a Promax 350 helmet for Christmas, decided to do the right thing an read the instructions first for a change, couldn't believe my eyes when the diagram for the battery holder in the manual didn't match the helmet??? Double checked the model number etc. Thought this was a typical poor set of instructions (common to almost all tools we buy these days) and was ready to head back to the supplier for a refund when I thought of Googling my question and couldn't believe I found this website straight away and my problem was solved. Great informative website. Just a suggestion; updating the instructions for other purchasers would be a good idea!! Regards David S
